2019-2022 INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM

EXEMPLIFYING EXCELLENCE THROUGH SUSTAINABLE SERVICE

 

TARGET I - HBCU FOR LIFE: A CALL TO ACTION

Target Areas: Promote and Market HBCU, $upport HBCUs

Members will enlighten the community regarding HBCUs, increase applications to HBCUs, increase enrollment to HBCUs, raise $10 million to establish and capitalize the Alpha Kappa Alpha HBCU Endowment Initiative, allocate up to $100,000 to each accredited HBCU over four years, and help students remain in school and obtain degrees.

TARGET I - #CAP     SIGNATURE PROGRAM

Signature Program - #CAP  (College Application Process)

SM 

Members will assist 50,000 high school students with the college application and the enrollment process.

TARGET II - WOMEN'S HEALTHCARE & WELLNESS

 

Target Areas: Breast Cancer Awareness and Prevention

Heart Health, Nutrition For Life, Care For the Caregivers

 Members will aim to reach 100,000 women throughout the US, share info concerning risk factors, provide access to mammograms through the AKA Mobile Breast Cancer Screening Unit, reach 100,000 women throughout the US, raise awareness of risk factors through partnerships with health professionals, engage the community in low impact heart health activities, services, and support; reach 100,000 women through education, community outreach, and advocacy, raise awareness regarding the importance of incorporating good nutrition into daily lifestyles, raise national awareness regarding the impact of caregiver syndrome on the quality of health of caregivers, increase awareness of resources and support available to caregivers.

TARGET III - ECONOMIC LEGACY

 

 Target Areas: Personal Financial Planning and Asset Accumulation, Credit Repair and Monitoring –

Your Score Matters, Entrepreneurship & Black Dollar 365, Operation AKA Assist

 Members will provide practical but advanced financial planning information that will increase fiscal awareness and lead to increased savings and asset accumulation, increase community awareness of scores in personal financial management and overall asset accumulation, help consumers understand FICO scores and importance reviewing/protecting credit report, increase direct member support of Black business by 5%, raise community awareness of strategies that impact African American entrepreneurs and their business, thus building wealth in the community, partner with local and national efforts to raise awareness, supply goods, and services to 100,000 homeless individuals and families, advocate on behalf of the homeless.

TARGET IV - THE ARTS!

 

 Target Areas: Salute to the Harlem Renaissance & Black Arts Movement

 Members will increase opportunities for youth engagement and community-wide awareness of visual and performing arts during the Harlem Renaissance and the Black Arts Movement, and their influence on contemporary African American art and culture.

TARGET V - GLOBAL IMPACT

 

 Target Areas: National Global Impact Day, Global Assistance Activities, Refugees in America Assistance Program

 Members will conduct a large scale community service project that reaches across boarders and oceans, engage youth & adults in an impact outreach, and increase knowledge of their status as world citizens, implement collection and distribution programs that gather usable items supplied by chapters and community members, send items to children and adults in less developed countries through partnerships with international organizations, assist refugees of African decent to integrate into life in the US, increase awareness of refugee issues and concerns.
