To do things that are worthwhile, to capture a vision fair, and a chapter in service to all mankind, are all reasons for the chartering of Nu Lambda Omega. In December of 1979, fifteen members (lead by four visionary women: Betty Burleson, Fannie Gilliam, Iris Palmer, Yvette Simpson) held the first meeting to discuss the chartering of a second Atlanta chapter. By the date of charter, over 50 members expressed an interest in walking the journey together. On September 13, 1980, Nu Lambda Omega received its charter. Since the chapter’s inception, the chapter has forged ahead under the leadership of: Fannie Gilliam Nu Lambda Omega prides itself as a sisterhood of support, a sisterhood of increased scholarship contributions, and a sisterhood of service to all mankind.
